Ran across this pic from the good ol' days, no date or info (sorry - 2008/09?):

Triumph put two Rocket motors in the Streamliner and ran it at Bonnyville (2016?) where it went over on its side and crashed.
Being an inline 3, the Rocket has substantial sideways torque when throttle is applied - guessing that might be what happened.

Triumph Infor Rocket Streamliner is powered by two turbocharged, water-cooled triumph rocket-III engines. It produces a staggering 1000 bhp at 9000 RPM. Together, the engine capacity adds up to 2970 cc which is quenched by methanol (the fuel of this bike!). Specially designed aluminum swingarms do the suspension duty while carbon disc brakes and parachutes help to control the speed.

Nice pic but can it fly, nope. ...the ultimate trailer queen
Triumph should build an electric version but it'd be disqualified because there's no combustion engine!

I saw at least two "records" set at Bonneville Salt Flats. One was a BMW with a sidecar that didn't fit into any established category, so a new category was created for it. The other was an electric bicycle, first one to complete the course (also a new category). The latter took forever....
As for the Streamliner, Triumph chose world's biggest showboat to drive it so, yeah, that's exactly what happened.
